The Emmy-award winning Amazon Prime Video series announced on Tuesday (June 29) that the 77-year-old Gilmore Girls actress will be joining the show for season four.
Series creator Amy Sherman-Palladino and her husband Daniel Palladino received the award for Excellence in Television Writing at the Nantucket Film Festival on Saturday (June 19) and during their appearance they offered some insight into Milo‘s character on the show.
The 43-year-old This Is Us actor was spotted filming scenes alongside Rachel Brosnahan on Thursday (June 10) in New York City.
It appears that Milo and Rachel filmed a bunch of scenes as they were each spotted in five different outfits. Before they began shooting, they did a rehearsal in their personal clothes.
It’s not yet known who Milo will be playing on the show and we likely will be waiting a while for more details. Filming on the fourth season began back in January, so we might not see him until the end of the season.
The 30-year-old actress was spotted with Starbucks in hand while arriving on set of her award-winning Amazon series on Tuesday afternoon (March 2) in New York City.
Rachel got into character as Midge Maisel in a bright pink outfit paired with a white, lace hat as she stayed under an umbrella, that kept her safe amid the pandemic.
Also spotted on set, was Rachel‘s co-star Alex Borstein, who plays Susie Myerson on the show, who sported a face mask as she made her way out of her trailer and onto set for filming.
Later in the day, Rachel put on face mask and waved to photographers as she headed home after a day of filming.
Production for The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel had to be pushed back because of the ongoing pandemic.
Back in January, Rachel took to Instagram to mark her first day back on set.
“It looks a little different this year…but we’re back! Working away on @maiseltv Season 4. ✨” Rachel wrote along with a pic of herself all dolled up as Midge.
“In season 3 of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Midge and Susie go to Vegas. I may or may not have stolen a handful of poker chips that are in my living room,” she admitted.
“One of the best parts about working on The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel is the amount of detail that every single department infuses the project with. I look at them and they bring me joy,” she went on to explain.
“Now they all know that I’m a thief,” she added with a laugh.
The 30-year-old actress spoke to Jess Cagle on his SiriusXM show and admitted that the cast of the award winning show were actually “supposed to go back in June”.
However, it “wasn’t safe to do that then. I just actually came from, from a wig and shoe and hat fittings. So literally just 20 minutes ago, walked in the door.”
Rachel adds that the cast is now “in the process of getting ready to go back hopefully safely in January, and are really, really excited.”
She also revealed that in the upcoming season, she’ll be in a lot of hats: “The hats are insane. The hats are out of control. We may have, we may have lost our minds with the hat this season.”
Rachel also explained besides the hats, she hasn’t actually seen a script for the new season.
“I have absolutely no idea what’s happening,” she admitted. “I’m in all of these costume fittings and they’re going ‘this is the dress for when she’s in the deli.’ And I’m like, ‘I haven’t, I haven’t,’ I am being a hundred percent honest. I haven’t seen a script.”
She adds, “I haven’t seen anything. I haven’t gotten to sit down. I have no idea what’s happening this season. So I am just as excited as everyone else to find out.”
Amy Sherman-Palladino is addressing criticism about her hit show The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.
The 54-year-old creator took part in the comedy showrunner roundtable interview with The Hollywood Reporter where she addressed the critcism surrounding Midge Maisel (Rachel Brosnahan) and her parenting skills.
“The main negative thing that I’ve been getting about Midge is about [her being away from her] kids, and I have no patience for that s–t whatsoever,” Amy shared. “I never saw one person say dick about Don Draper in Mad Men not hanging out with his kids. So f–k that s–t.”
Amy went on to say that Midge’s two kids are well-taken care of so fans should stop worrying about them.
“These kids have two sets of grandparents who dote on them, and they have a father that’s there all the time,” Amy added. “If this woman has to go out on the road to make a living, f–k you if you have an issue with that. And I mean that with all the love in my heart.”
