'The Muppet Show' Now Comes With A 'Harmful Content' Warning Ahead of Episodes on Disney+

Disney+ has opted to include a warning ahead of certain episodes of The Muppet Show, which is now airing on the streaming network.

“These stereotypes were wrong then and are wrong now,” the disclaimer reads just before a select few episodes of the 118 included episodes. “Rather than remove this content, we want to acknowledge its harmful impact, learn from it and spark conversation to create a more inclusive future together.”

The warning message continues: “Disney is committed to creating stories with inspirational and aspirational themes that reflect the rich diversity of the human experience around the globe. To learn more about how stories have impacted society, visit: Disney.com/StoriesMatter.”

The 12-second disclaimer was added before 18 episodes.

Fans have also noticed that while The Muppet Show, which ran for a total of five seasons, has 120 episodes, there are only 118 available to watch.

According to The Wrap, the two episodes guest starred Brooke Shields and British comedian Chris Langham.

A Disney+ spokesperson revealed why they weren’t on the streaming service and it reportedly has to do with music rights issues.
