Jon Bernthal is finally premiering The Punisher!

The 41-year-old actor hit the red carpet at the event for the Marvel Netflix series on Monday night (November 6) at AMC Loews 34th Street 14 in New York City.

He was joined by his co-stars including Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Amber Rose Revah, Ben Barnes, Michael Nathanson, Deborah Ann Woll and Jaime Ray Newman.

The series is based on the comic of the same name and revolves around The Punisher who discovers the truth about about injustices in New York’s criminal underworld after the death of his wife and children.

Jon Bernthal‘s The Punisher has an official release date!

A new trailer for the show debuted moments ago, and Netflix announced the release date for the series as November 17, which is under a month away.

Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Amber Rose Revah, Ben Barnes and Daredevil‘s Deborah Ann Woll also star in the new series.

Netflix had been coy about the show’s release date for weeks, and teased that it would be happening sometime this year.

The Punisher will no longer be appearing at New York Comic Con.

Following the horrific shooting in Las Vegas on Sunday (October 1) that left over 50 people dead, Netflix and Marvel issued a joint statement confirming that the Daredevil spin-off series would not be appearing as planned.

“We are stunned and saddened by this week’s senseless act in Las Vegas. After careful consideration, Netflix and Marvel have decided it wouldn’t be appropriate for Marvel’s The Punisher to participate in New York Comic Con. Our thoughts continue to be with the victims and those affected by this tragedy,” the two companies announced.

The bloody official trailer for the series, released in September, depicts intense gunfire and violence.

Here’s a synopsis of the upcoming Netflix series: After exacting revenge on those responsible for the death of his wife and children, Frank Castle (Jon Bernthal) uncovers a conspiracy that runs far deeper than New York’s criminal underworld. Now known throughout the city as The Punisher, he must discover the truth about injustices that affect more than his family alone.

Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Deborah Ann Woll, Ben Barnes, and more also have starring roles in the series.

The release date has not been revealed just yet, but we do know it will debut sometime in 2017.

If you watched all of Netflix and Marvel’s The Defenders – you may have noticed a teaser for Jon Bernthal‘s The Punisher as a special treat and the end of the credits.

Netflix has released the video on YouTube so everyone can enjoy and get hyped for the show, which will debut this year.

Jon returns to play Frank Castle, who last appeared in season two of Daredevil.

Netflix teases the release date as sometime in 2017, but cryptically gave fans clues in the video to figure out the exact date.
