'Umbrella Academy' Stars Tom Hopper & Robert Sheehan Would Love To Go to The '80s in Season Three

Tom Hopper and Robert Sheehan have some ideas on what could happen in a possible season three of The Umbrella Academy on Netflix.

The two actors, who star as Luther and Klaus on the show, spoke with GamesRadar about the future of the series and threw out a few ideas of where it could go.

“You’re always talking about future seasons,” Tom shared in the round table interview. “You know, from season 1, you’re always talking about where the show could go. I’d like to do the Eighties, actually.”

Robert added that some of the ideas he has are the family getting transported back to “Medieval times” and of course, the 1980s.

“What if they went back to the day they were all born? Something in 1987,” Robert shared. “You know, the whole 20th century was contentious. I’m always hatching pipe dreams. Sending an email to Steve [Blackman, showrunner]. That’s the fun part.”

Tom continued, “I think there’s an element of assuming that the story continues until you’re told that it’s not going to continue. You’re always keeping it alive in your head as an actor because you don’t like to kill off a character until it’s kind of done. You’re always seeing where they could go or what could happen.”

The Umbrella Academy season two is now streaming on Netflix.

Umbrella Academy's Emmy Raver-Lampman Talks Season 3 Hopes for Allison

Emmy Raver-Lampman is having a big year and her stardom is continuing to rise with the release of The Umbrella Academy season two!

Now that the new season of the acclaimed Netflix series is streaming, fans are likely going to be wondering if a third season will happen. While it hasn’t been confirmed yet, it’s very likely that the show will be renewed.

Emmy plays the role of Allison Hargreeves on the fantasy series and she opened up to Collider about the lessons that the character has learned this season, and how that will lead into a possibly third season.

“I think the lessons that Allison is taking away from the second season are immense. We’re seeing a really new Allison. We’re seeing an Allison that is stripped of all of her crutches and her vices. And she’s coming from a place of using her power and using them for selfish reasons and is at a real low and is riddled with regret and guilt and looking at a life that, outside of her daughter, feels meaningless and superficial. And so I think the Allison that we meet in the second season, she’s had to scale it all the way back. She doesn’t have her power, she doesn’t have her family, she doesn’t have the notoriety and the fame and the career and she doesn’t know where Claire is,” Emmy said.

She continued, “Because she doesn’t have her power, she’s had to be observant and she’s had to listen and she’s had to slow things down and she’s had to approach the world in a new way on top of being in the middle of the segregated south in the middle of this movement. And I think she’s finding this new self-worth that I think is really beautiful to watch. And I think for the first time in her life, she’s looking in the mirror and actually liking that reflection because I think she knows that everything she has now, she’s worked for and she has a community that supports her and has a community that loves her and has found a man that loves her without all the things that made her lovable.”

“And I think the biggest one also is that she doesn’t need her power to be powerful,” Emmy said. “And I think that is how she has approached everything in her life up until this point that she’s like, ‘I’m powerful because I have powers.’ But I think this season she’s learning the power that is in her actual voice and the message that she wants to carry and pass on and the fights that she wants to fight and whatever it is that she wants to take on, I think she’s starting to learn that she doesn’t need her powers to do that.”

'Umbrella Academy' Season Two Trailer Reveals a Lot in Store - Watch Now!

The season two trailer for The Umbrella Academy is finally here!

Here’s a synopsis of the second season of the hit show: Five warned his family (so, so many times) that using his powers to escape from Vanya’s 2019 apocalypse was risky. Well, he was right – the time jump scatters the siblings in time in and around Dallas, Texas. Over a three year period. Starting in 1960. Some, having been stuck in the past for years, have built lives and moved on, certain they’re the only ones who survived. Five is the last to land, smack dab in the middle of a nuclear doomsday, which – spoiler alert! – turns out is a result of the group’s disruption of the timeline (déjà vu, anyone?). Now the Umbrella Academy must find a way to reunite, figure out what caused doomsday, put a stop to it, and return to the present timeline to stop that other apocalypse. All while being hunted by a trio of ruthless Swedish assassins. But seriously, no pressure or anything.

The Netflix show will return on July 31.

The series stars Ellen Page, Tom Hopper, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Robert Sheehan, David Castañeda, Aidan Gallagher, Cameron Britton, and Mary J. Blige.
