During their chat, Selena and Zane spoke about her recent move into the late Tom Petty‘s former house.

“It’s not completely done, but it already feels like such a haven. This is Tom Petty‘s house, so I always think about it,” she explained.

“Yeah, it’s that spirit, and knowing Stevie Nicks was here…there’s so much history, so when I’m in that zone, I feel like it’s very special. I also have the most comfortable couches too, so I could take breaks and get back into it. The Zooming has been hard to record; it’s been very difficult, because I love being with people, and I love creating together. So that part, obviously, can’t happen right now, but it’s been so nice. It’s like my little lair.”

Tom Petty's Family Issues Cease & Desist to Trump for Using 'I Won't Back Down' at Tulsa Rally

Tom Petty‘s family is calling out President Donald Trump.

The family for the late entertainer issued a statement on social media on Saturday (June 20) following Trump‘s usage of “I Won’t Back Down” at his Tulsa, Oklahoma rally.

Tom Petty‘s song ‘I Won’t Back Down’ was used today at Donald Trump‘s campaign rally in Tulsa, OK. Trump was in no way authorized to use this song to further a campaign that leaves too many Americans and common sense behind. Both the late Tom Petty and his family firmly stand against racism and discrimination of any kind. Tom Petty would never want a song of his used for a campaign of hate. He liked to bring people together. Tom wrote this song for the underdog, for the common man and for EVERYONE,” they wrote.

“We want to make it clear that we believe everyone is free to vote as they like, think as they like, but the Petty family doesn’t stand for this. We believe in America and we believe in democracy. But Donald Trump is not representing the noble ideals of either. We would hate for fans that are marginalized by this administration to think we were complicit in this usage. Concurrently, we have issued an official cease and desist notice to the Trump campaign. Adria, Annakim, Dana and Jane Petty

One entertainer also mocked Trump for his lower-than-expected attendance numbers…

Stevie Nicks Gives Emotional Speech About Tom Petty at Grammys Tribute Concert

Stevie Nicks speaks on stage at the 2018 MusiCares Person of the Year event on Friday night (January 26) at Radio City Music Hall in New York City.

The legendary singer was honored at the event alongside her Fleetwood Mac bandmates Lindsey Buckingham, Mick Fleetwood, Christine McVie, and John McVie.

Stevie gave a touching speech about her late friend Tom Petty during the event.

“The loss of Tom Petty has just about broken my heart,” she said (via People). “He was not only a good man to go down the river with, as Johnny Cash said, he was a great father and he was a great friend. He was one of my best friends. My heart will never get over this.”

Petty was the honoree at last year’s MusiCares event and Tom told Stevie “about how important it was to him. And maybe he was talking about it because [he] was ill. He was not well.”

“And he fought his way through that tour,” Stevie added about his tour, which wrapped up one week before he died in October 2017. “He should’ve canceled, and he should’ve just gone home and gone to the hospital. But not Tom. He was gonna go down that river. And so, God bless him, he finished his tour at the Hollywood Bowl. Three shows. And one week later he died – but he got down the river. So Tom, I know you’re standing next to me cause you always have been for so many years.”

Tom Petty's Death Ruled An Accidental Overdose

Tom Petty‘s official cause of death has been revealed.

According to his family, the 66-year-old musician passed away following an accidental drug overdose.

“Our family sat together this morning with the Medical Examiner – Coroner’s office and we were informed of their final analysis that Tom Petty passed away due to an accidental drug overdose as a result of taking a variety of medications,” the family wrote in a Facebook post.

The overdose came as a result of taking a variety of medications to manage pain stemming from emphysema, knee problems and a badly fractured hip.

The family added, “On the day he died he was informed his hip had graduated to a full on break and it is our feeling that the pain was simply unbearable and was the cause for his over use of medication.”

Tom passed away back in October when his family took him off life support after he suffered from cardiac arrest.

The cause of his death had previously been a mystery as it was listed as “deferred” on his death certificate.

Tom‘s family and friends continue to be in our thoughts during this difficult time.
