Lin-Manuel Miranda is opening up about how he was able to charm his way to Vanessa Nadal‘s heart – rapping!

The 40-year-old Hamilton creator revealed that he had admired Vanessa from afar during their college days and it took him seven long years to finally say anything to her.

Lin says that he invited Vanessa to a performance by his improvisational troupe, Freestyle Love Supreme, which combined traditional improv with rap, and that’s when they finally connected.

Only it wasn’t him who made the actual first move, Vanessa did!

Vanessa actually went to a second performance of the group and “that was when she asked me out. She was impressed at my ability to do this very specific thing.”

Vanessa Nadal is poking fun at husband Lin-Manuel Miranda‘s love life in Hamilton.

The wife of the 40-year-old composer shared just how she reacts when Lin, as the title character, kisses someone in the hip-hop musical.

While live tweeting with the original cast tonight (July 3), Vanessa admitted that she actually boos the scenes.

“I always boo when Lin kisses someone else on stage, and people sitting around me look at me like I’m a crazy person,” she wrote.

Vanessa then added that her and Lin‘s oldest child, Sebastian, reminded her that she actually forgot to boo at one of them.

“‘you missed the fourth kiss,’ reports Sebastian. He’s counting. Thanks, kid,” she wrote.

Vanessa and Lin have been married since 2010 and share two children together, Sebastian, 5, and Francisco, 2.

Lin-Manuel wrote the Broadway musical In the Heights and it was made into a movie, which will be hitting theaters this summer. Anthony, who starred in Hamilton with Lin, is playing the lead role, which Lin originated on Broadway.

Jasmine was also in the original cast of Hamilton as Peggy.

FYI: Lin-Manuel is wearing Giorgio Armani. Anthony is wearing Dolce&Gabbana. Jasmine is wearing a Yanina Couture dress.

Anna Wintour was honored with the Portrait of a Nation prize Sunday at the National Portrait Gallery. Lin-Manuel Miranda, Earth, Wind & Fire, Jeff Bezos, Indra Nooyi and Frances Arnold were also recipients honored at the 2019 American Portrait Gala.

“I am beyond proud that the single most influential person in American fashion is an immigrant from the United Kingdom,” James expressed during his speech for Anna (via USA Today). “The most iconic, female immigrant since the Statue of Liberty herself.”

The Hamilton creator and his wife were in attendance for opening night of Freestyle Love Supreme at the Booth Theatre on Wednesday (October 2) in New York City.

Fifteen years the creation of the original improv troupe, Freestyle Love Supreme is a hip-hop musical from Lin-Manuel, Thomas Kail and Anthony Veneziale.

Here’s a description: “Every performance, the crew takes the crowd on a freestyle, hip-hop, improvisational, never-before-seen comedy ride. See it for the first time every time as the performers take suggestions from the audience and spin them into instantaneous riffs and full-length musical numbers. With special — and spontaneous — guest appearances from Lin-Manuel Miranda, Christopher Jackson, Daveed Diggs, James Monroe Iglehart, and more, every night brings the unexpected.”

Wayne Brady and daugther Maile Masako Brady, Chris Sullivan, Veronica Vazquez and Utkarsh Ambudkar were also in attendance.

Lin-Manuel Miranda just received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame!

The 38-year-old actor stepped out for the ceremony on Friday (November 30) in Hollywood, Calif.

Lin-Manuel was joined at the event by his family, including wife Vanessa Nadal, and received touching tributes from Rita Moreno and Weird Al.

“Here’s the thing about these Hollywood Stars – they’re permanent and I have realized on my way here, that there’s no small part of my work that is about legacy. Hamilton talks about it a lot. ‘What is a legacy? It’s planting seeds in a garden you never get to see!’ Well, we get to see this star every day!” Lin-Manuel said during the ceremony.

Lin-Manuel Miranda walks the red carpet with his wife Vanessa Nadal at the world premiere of his movie Mary Poppins Returns at the Dolby Theater on Thursday (November 29) in Hollywood.

Also in attendance at the event was Lin‘s co-star Dick Van Dyke, who plays the bank owner Mr. Dawes Jr. in the new film.

Dick walked the red carpet with his wife Arlene Silver.

Rob Marshall, who directed the movie, also was at the premiere.
