Whitney Cummings is sharing the truth about her exit from Roseanne.
The 36-year-old actress, who originally remained quiet about leaving the show, says it was actually all about Roseanne Barr‘s tweeting history and was “so pissed” about her racist remarks.
“I wanted her to get off Twitter. I felt like it was going to come to a head. It was like whack-a-mole,” Whitney said on The Daily Beast’s “The Last Laugh” podcast.
She added that the cast and crew put their “heart and soul” into the project and “all worked really hard on that show” and it was “just for nothing.”
Roseanne has since been outed from the show, which was brought back to life in a spinoff series, The Conners.
Each star roasted and toasted Busy and when it was Michelle‘s turn, she got up to the podium and ripped up her cue cards and decided to speak from the heart.
“Tonight is actually opening night of my daughter’s school play. And what I said to her, ‘Listen, Aunt Biz needs me. Are you cool if I just come to the middle and the ending?’ She was like, ‘Mom, absolutely. Get on that plane, of course,’” Michelle said. At this point, Busy was already in tears.
“And then she said to me, ‘Mom, why are you guys such good friends? You’re so different,” Michelle added. Busy jokingly replied, “I mean, does she work for Vanity Fair?!”
“You’re just always there. And I don’t know how you do it because you look like you’re living a really fabulous life for yourself, but the truth is that you show up for all of us, all of the time. You are the most selfless person that I know and it’s taught me everything that I know about being a friend. So thank you for asking me to come here and be with you tonight,” Michelle concluded.
FYI: Michelle is wearing Tabitha Simmons shoes.

After a social media uproar regarding the well-being of the animals on their property, including Stanley the Giraffe, the company issued a statement claiming that the animals were largely accounted for and being taken care of on Saturday (November 10).
Whitney wanted to find out for herself and drove to the property. She also documented the experience on her Instagram.
“I went rogue and went to check on Stanley the giraffe myself. There were a lot of rumors and i didn’t want to be contributing to untrue gossip,” she wrote in her first post.
“I didn’t want to speak until i had all the information. Now I do. They didn’t evacuate their animals and still won’t. I wanted to be understanding and gracious, but once you treat your animals like this (when you have plenty of money) we simply aren’t on the same page. The pastures were still burning in areas when I got there, an injured pig was found by us that nobody was looking for, and the owners of boarded horses were told they were evacuated which is a lie. So now we have a problem. You guys can DM me if you want to discuss evacuating them otherwise I’m just going to post the photos I have. Talk soon?” she captioned a second post.
