Warner Brother’s new film Wonka is moving forward!
Variety reported on Tuesday (January 19) that a release date has been set for the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory spinoff Wonka.
According to Variety, Wonka “has been in development for years but recently started to pick up steam again” and the studio is planning a theatrical release on March 17, 2023. News of the reboot first dropped in 2016.
The article adds, “Plot details for Wonka have been kept heavily under wraps, though the upcoming adaptation will center on Willy Wonka’s earlier days prior to operating his elaborate house of confectionary creations.”
Paddington director Paul King is attached as director, with writer Simon Rich also attached.
