Dianna Agron steps out of her hotel with her fiance Winston Marshall by her side on Sunday (June 19) in New York City.
After the shooting in Orlando, the 30-year-old former Glee actress wrote a passionate call for gun control on her Instagram page.
“Love is what you want and love is what we need,” Dianna wrote. “Since 1968, there are more Americans that have died from guns in the United States than on the battlefields of all the wars in American history. We NEED to control and regulate guns. We’ve had shootings in elementary schools, high schools and colleges. Places of learning where the number one concern of students should be their studies, not their safety. We’ve had shootings in movie theaters and night clubs. We’ve had shootings at races and at rallies. Shootings on our streets, in our neighborhoods, at our workplaces.”
“I do not consider owning a gun to be a part of our natural born heritage. We are constantly at a loss, mourning our innocent. We need more regulations, more understanding, more compassion, more love, less fear, less prejudice, more love, more love and more love. Teach the beauty of kindness, of understanding, of just, fair thinking,” Dianna added. “I have never been so frustrated with the state of our beautiful country. This conversation is tiring. Let us move away from this and towards something better. Can’t we be better than this? I truly want and need to believe that we can, but once again, right now, this is very hard to do.”
