Zac Brown Tests Positive For COVID-19; Pauses 'Comeback Tour' With Zac Brown Band

Zac Brown has had to pause his tour because he has tested positive for COVID-19.

The 43-year-old singer revealed to fans that the band are pressing pause on The Comeback Tour as he deals with having the virus.

“I have made the very difficult decision to pause Zac Brown Band’s ‘The Comeback Tour,’” he wrote on Instagram. “Despite taking precautions, I’ve tested positive for COVID-19. I am deeply disappointed this has happened, as touring is our life and performing live for our fans is the best part of our job.”

Zac added that the tour would pick back up again “as soon as I have finished the CDC-mandated quarantine and it is safe for our band members and crew to do so.”

He did not disclose if he or if any of his band members or tour personnel had been vaccinated or additional members tested positive.

The next four shows – in Michigan, Pennsylvania and New York – have been canceled to allow enough time for his full recovery. Refunds are available for all four of them.

“I am grateful to our fans for understanding this decision, as well as everyone on the front lines who can’t stay at home because their work is essential. I believe we can all overcome this together. As soon as we can, we’ll see you back out on the road again. Nothing’s better than the comeback.”

Last year, Zac cancelled the band’s Owl Tour over concerns about the pandemic, and urged his fans to take proper precautions.

Carrie Underwood Didn't Open the Thanksgiving Football Game & Fans Are Sad About It

Fans who watched NBC’s special Thanksgiving Day football coverage were sad to find out that Carrie Underwood‘s opening intro for Sunday Night Football was not used for the game.

Instead, Zac Brown Band opened the game with a special version of their song “Chicken Fried,” which was appropriately changed to “Turkey Fried.”

Carrie used to do a special holiday performance for NBC’s Thanksgiving coverage, but they previously revealed that she would be taking the holiday off this year.

“Hey America. It’s Zac Brown here with the Zac Brown Band. We’re getting set up for the perfect Thanksgiving,” Zac said in a promo. “We’ve got food, we’ve got family, we’ve got football, and we’ve got our guitars. Because we’re getting ready to cook up a little tune for everyone to jam to.”

Zac Brown Band: 'The Owl' Album Stream & Download - Listen!

The Zac Brown Band returns with their brand new album The Owl, and you can listen to it right here!

The three-time Grammy Award-winning troupe released their sixth studio album on Friday (September 20).

The album’s title is inspired by the lore surrounding the great horned owl, which can see perfectly at night, making it a reliable guide, even during dark times.

Zac Brown Band collaborated with acts like Skrillex, Ryan Tedder and Jason ‘Poo Bear’ Boyd, as well as Max Martin, Brandi Carlile, Andrew Watt, Benny Blanco and Sasha Sirota.

“Our music has always been a melting pot and lived outside of any one single category, The Owl is no exception. The collaborators we worked with on this album have been on my wish list for a long time and when everyone brings something new and different to the table, something special comes out of it. These songs are rooted in the raw authenticity our fans expect, but they also explore the unexpected. The Owl has been a long time in the making and we’re excited it’s finally here,” said Zac Brown.
