Zaya Wade is 14!

On Saturday (May 29), Zaya‘s dad Dwyane Wade and stepmom Gabrielle Union took to Instagram to wish their daughter a happy birthday.

“Happy Birthday @zayawade ❤⭐❤ 14!!!! 🎂🎁🎈💥💥💥 We ❤ you so much and we are so proud of you! Keep shining my 🖤” Gabrielle wrote along with a photo of Zaya striking a fierce pose.

Zaya‘s big brother and Dwyane‘s eldest child Zaire, 19, also took to Instagram to wish his sister a happy birthday.

“I’ll always be here to love & protect you, through thick n thin. You got a brother in me 5L no matter what and Ima make sure as you get older you understand that🤞🏾🖤 I love you kid, happy g day @zayawade. Continue to inspire & persevere thru all! We got your back on this side Zaya💕” Zaire wrote along with a few photos of himself and Zaya.

Zaya‘s cousin Dahveon Morris also shared a sweet tribute to her on Instagram, writing, “Happy birthday @zayawade I love you Soo much I will always have your back thru it all live it up.”

Dwyane re-shared all of the posts on his Instagram Story.

Over on their 2-year-old daughter Kaavia‘s Instagram, Dwyane and Gabrielle shared a few cute photos of Kaavia and Zaya.

“Whatchu got juices & berries in there? ❤ you @zayawade & your hair 🤗👶🏾 Happy Birthday!!!!” the post on Kaavia’s Instagram read.

In a recent interview, Dwyane and Gabrielle opened up about Zaya coming out as transgender over two years ago.

Gabrielle Union and Dwyane Wade are opening up about raising 13-year-old daughter Zaya, who recently came out as transgender.

The family spoke out in an interview with People.

“When I look at Zaya, I get hope. Because I’m like, okay, we raised [our kids] to be authentic,” Dwyane said.

“I come from a locker room of a macho, male-dominant sport. But I started learning and I started to watch her. And from then on we started having more conversations.”

“I didn’t have many resources, so I just reached out to everyone I knew from social media. Everyone responded with love, resources and information,” Gabrielle said of Zaya coming out.

“We weren’t coming into it like it’s got to be our way. We’re going to mess up. We’re going to say the wrong thing. But we had to learn and be led.”

Dwyane Wade says he “appreciated” Mike Tyson defending his family.

During a new interview, the 38-year-old retired NBA player opened up about the 54-year-old boxing icon speaking out against rapper Boosie Badazz, who made transphobic comments abut Dwyane‘s daughter Zaya.

“I actually talked to Mike about that early in the pandemic,” Dwyane shared on an interview with Central Ave. “We had a conversation. I appreciated from a standpoint of, you know, Mike is someone who has never tried to be perfect. He is someone who has learned from this journey of life.”

“He’s so smart. He is so educated and knowledgeable about life,” he added.

Earlier this summer, Boosie made an appearance on Mike‘s Hotboxin’ With Mike Tyson podcast and talked about the transphobic comments he made earlier about Dwyane‘s 13-year-old daughter.

“I really commented on the Dwyane Wade situation because I got offended because it’s a child,” Boosie said to Mike. “That’s really why I got offended.”

Mike responded, “What happened to you that you think that you’re somebody that can comment on somebody’s life?”

Dwyane then added, “I’ve never came out and said anything to anybody that feels a certain way about me or someone else in my family and my loved ones. They don’t know us. They don’t know our heart. They definitely don’t know Zaya. So, all I do is what my mama say, ‘Just pray for them.’”

Dwyane and wife Gabrielle Union recently praised Zaya during the 2020 GLAAD Media Awards.

In a recorded video message, the celebrity couple presented the award for Outstanding Drama Series, which went to Pose, but took a moment ahead of the reveal to praise Zaya for teaching them to be allies.

“We stand as allies with the LGBTQ+ community as proud parents of a transgender child,” Dwyane shared. “Our daughter Zaya is leading us in our journey, and we’re doing all we can to give every one of our kids the ability to live their truth.”

He added, “I didn’t always understand how to do that – but I thank Zaya for teaching me, and GLAAD for elevating the images and messages that accelerate acceptance in every family.”

Gabrielle continued, “That mission means even more to us now as we raise all of our Black children. Black lives matter, and Black trans lives matter. We are calling on all of our racial justice warriors out there to open your hearts and your mind to the LGBTQ+ community, so that we can work together and empower each other and save lives.”

For her 13th birthday, Dwyane Wade and Gabrielle Union threw Zaya an epic medieval-themed party.

In pics shared on Instagram, Zaya donned lavender braids in her hair while wearing black and yellow tights paired with green and black, corset outfit. Gabrielle looked pretty in a floral-print dress as Dwyane wore a black, leather skirt for the party.

“When the theme is modern medival [sic] kingdom #13,” Zaya captioned one photo while in front of a giant “Zaya #13″ bush wall.

In another post with Dwyane and Gabrielle, Zaya wrote, “Stronger together✊🏾 #happypride🌈”

Zaya officially turned 13 back on May 29.

Dwyane Wade has switched up his look during quarantine and is twinning with daughter Zaya!

The 38-year-old former basketball star debuted his new look on social media this weekend, thanks to wife Gabrielle Union.

“@zayawade and @dwyanewade snapped,” Gabrielle shared on her Instagram Story of the two backing up in their convertible car.

Zaya debuted her own new hair color on TikTok and it seems to be a bit lighter than Dwyane‘s fiery red.

Gabrielle Union has shared some great photos that were taken by her step-daughter Zaya Wade by the pool at their house!

The 47-year-old actress put her fit figure on display while wearing a bikini for the sunset photo shoot.
