Taylor Swift’s Move to Pop Music Mourned at CMA Awards 2014
A pregnant Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley hit the stage for their opening monologue during the 2014 CMA Awards held at the Bridgestone Arena on Wednesday (November 5) in Nashville, Tenn.
After doing a spoof of the Ebola epidemic, Carrie segued by saying, “All kidding aside, we have some serious things to talk about tonight. As we stand here and celebrate and have a good time, we recognize that people around the world are worried.”
“Yeah, you can’t turn on the TV or open up the newspaper or click on a website without being reminded about the epidemic that we’re all facing. And I don’t think I’m out of line by saying that this condition has hit Nashville the hardest,” Brad added.
“That’s right, Brad. And of course, we’re talking about Post Partum Taylor Swift Disorder. Or as it’s more commonly known, PPTSD,” Carrie added.
“Why isn’t our government doing something about this? I’ll be the first one to say it… President Obama does not care about Post Partum Taylor Swift Disorder,” Brad said and then Carrie added, “I’m pretty sure that’s why the Democrats lost the Senate.”
