8 Celebs Who Have Expressed Strong Opinions on Margot Robbie & Greta Gerwig's 'Barbie' Oscars Snubs

Actors are speaking out after Greta Gerwig and Margot Robbie did not receive Oscar nominations for Best Director and Best Actress, respectively.

The 40-year-old director and the 33-year-old actress were expected to be recognized for their work on their hit Barbie film.

However, they were only acknowledged in the Best Picture category. Their costars, Ryan Gosling and America Ferrera, were nominated for their supporting roles.

Since the nominations were announced on Friday (January 23), lots of celebrities have reacted to the surprising Barbie-related results.

While several celebrities are disappointed about the “snubs,” others don’t see an issue with the nominations the way they are.

Ryan and America are among the actors who have been vocal so far.

The 76-year-old former presidential hopeful shared a message amid discourse about the Barbie director and lead star being snubbed from the Best Director and Best Actress categories at the 2024 Oscars, despite their nominations in categories including Best Picture and Best Adapted Screenplay amid eight nominations for the movie in total.

Hillary Clinton and Malala Yousafzai will be making their Broadway debuts… as producers!

The former Secretary of State and the Nobel Peace Prize Laureate have joined the producing team of the upcoming Broadway musical Suffs, which will open next year.

Suffs, written by Shaina Taub, originally ran off-Broadway last year at the Public Theater and now it will play at the Music Box Theatre with an official opening night on April 18.

It’s 1913 and the women’s movement is heating up in America, anchored by the suffragists — “Suffs,” as they call themselves — and their relentless pursuit of the right to vote. Reaching across and against generational, racial, and class divides, these brilliant, flawed women entertain and inspire us with the story of their hard-won victory in an ongoing fight. So much has changed since the passing of the Nineteenth Amendment over a century ago, and yet we’re reminded sometimes we need to look back, in order to march fearlessly into the future.

Hillary Clinton has been spoofed on Saturday Night Live for years now. She’s even gotten in on the joke before by co-signing Kate McKinnon‘s impersonation of her ahead of the 2016 election.

However, the 75-year-old former Secretary of State hasn’t always been happy with the show. In fact, she once reached out to creator Lorne Michaels to complain about a sketch.
