Marion Cotillard: First Look at 'Rust & Bone'

Check out Marion Cotillard in the first still released from Rust & Bone!

The 36-year-old French actress stars in the film based on a compilation of short stories by Craig Davidson. Directed by Jacques Audiard, the movie is set to release during the Cannes Film Festival in May.

In addition to the first official photo, a synopsis was released:
“It begins in the north. Ali (Matthias Schoenaerts) finds himself with Sam, 5 years old, in his arms. Sam is his son, but Ali scarcely knows him. With no home, no money, and no friends, Ali goes to live with his sister in Antibes. There, things get better — she shelters them in her garage, she takes care of the baby, and the weather is beautiful. After a fight at a night club, Ali’s destiny is crossed with Stephanie’s (Cotillard). He takes her back to her place and leaves her his phone. He’s poor; she is beautiful and confident. She’s a princess. Everything is against them. Stephanie is a killer whale trainer at Marineland. Something would have to go terribly wrong with the show for a phone call in the middle of the night to reunite the two. When Ali finds her, the princess is in a wheelchair: she lost her legs and her illusions about life along with them. He helps her, simply, without compassion, without pity, and she begins to find life again.”
