OlderRicky Martin: 'Evita' Broadway Opening Night!
Ricky Martin throws on a tux for the opening night of Evita at the Marquis Theatre on Thursday (April 5) in New York City.
The 40-year-old singer, who plays Che in the Broadway revival, hit the stage with his co-stars, Michael Cerveris and Elena Roger.

Ricky is FANTASTIC in “Evita”!!!
Ricky only got the role because he is a light/white Hispanic. Skin tone matters a lot in the Spanish speaking world and they would never have given the role to the typical brown PuertoRican.
Please do not compare the late great Freddie Mercury with this no-talented piece of trash.
Both Ricky and Freddie are/were extremely talented people, Freddie Mercury is a legend like no other, but Ricky is also a great talent. In regards to his color, latin people just like people from other races and nationalities, come in many shades. What’s important is that they choose talent over race, color, or looks.

This production is really solid, but Ricky Martin—of whom I’ve never been a particularly crazy fan, though I like him—is the real draw. He is exceptional. He sings perfectly and has a real command of the stage.
I don’t see the comparison to Freddie unless all gay guys with mustaches are supposed to look alike.
He looks great!
