    Maria Says:

Absolutely well deserved!!! I went for a third time last night, 17 days after it’s released here, and the cinema still had full seats for three shows! It’s a movie that you just can’t get enough and you understand more in each viewing.

    frisbee Says:

Really, JJ? You’re going to pin Battleship on Skarsgard and Rhianna over Kitsch and Decker?

    celia_luv Says:

@ Mattchew i hope for your sake u mean Battleship because Avengers was AMAZING! If u were the 0.000000000000000000000001% of viewers who did not think so, then prepare for a barrage of abuse from people on here. seriously. i’d probably even stop reading. no, seriously.

Looks like another bomb for Johnny Depp.
Maybe now he will get the message that people want him to be an actor, not a caricature.

Jlo’s movie bomb bigtime yet Forbes has her as number 1 celeb. Shows what bs Forbes’ list are. Jlo better think twice about leaving Idol because her music and acting career ain’t that fab.

    Toni Says:

I hope to see The Avengers tonight for my birthday. This is the first movie in a log time where I really want to go out and see it.

Battleship – Universal’s Titanic, and not in a good way.

The other Universal project, Snow White and the Huntsman, is now under the gun to bring it on its opening weekend.

    Kiki Says:

Hopefully, this is the end of Brooklyn Decker’s alleged acting career.

  12. 12
    frisbee Says:

@Kiki: Brooklyn lucked out – everyone’s talking about Taylor Kitsch and his two massive flops, but she is also having two flops – on THE SAME DAY. Has any of that ever happened before, coz dayum! If Kitsch and Decker have anything in common, from agency to shampoo, they should both get rid of it asap, it’s clearly cursed.

    Annie Says:

We’re is JJ getting its facts from because Box Office Mojo has “The Dictators” making 24,456,000 and not 17,000,000 and did JLO movie make 12mill or the 10 Mill that Box Office Mojo reporteding?

  14. 14
    Kiki Says:

@Annie: Annie, The Dictator opened before Friday. So the number here is just for the weekend. The 25M total is for the whole 5 days run that the movie’s been out.

    She Stinks! Says:

As predicted, that low class no talent bad acting JHO Bag in a movie = bomb. No surprise there.

  16. 16
    Kiki Says:

@frisbee: Yeah, Decker’s having 2 flops on the same weekend!!! And well-deserved. I’m so sick of these models wannabes trotting the red carpet AS IF they’re on the same league as real talented actresses.

I just feel for Taylor Kitsch, really, I liked John Carter and I don’t think either flops was his fault.

    Dave From Canada Says:

I just saw “Dark Shadows” for the second time (good movie – and it’s hanging in there at number 4 in the top ten movies this week – number 2 last week) and I plan to see The Avengers soon!

  18. 18
    frisbee Says:

@Kiki: Same can be said for Decker – neither of her flops is her fault. The difference between her and Taylor Kitsch is that one can do better and the other cannot. So, honestly? I’m holding Kitsch more responsible for his flops than Decker. (Although obviously the fault is to the extent of a passive enabler to an alcoholic. No performance could’ve saved Battleship).

    Sarah. Says:

Father and son Skarsgard top the box office! That’s awesome. I loved the Avengers and Battleship. Kinda surprising that the Dictator is on #3. I don’t expect much of that movie obviously.. :p

  20. 20

    Taylor Kitsch is the bomb!

  21. 21
    karl Says:

i fail to see how batlleships numbers are bad? you are comparing it to a movie that has been hyped to the skies for I dont know how long. and yeah, avengers pretty much is just that, hype… its the “cool” thing to go and see, “I mean whats cool about a movie based on a boardgame, i mean come on, its a boardgame…” and there ends my typical american stereotype…

  22. 22
    @21 Says:

Battleship commercials are on CONSTANTLY, so you can’t say that it wasn’t hyped.
The biggest difference between Avengers and Battleship is the cast.
How can you compare Rhiana, Brooklin and Alex with the likes of Robert Downey, Mark Ruffalo, Scarlet Johansen, etc?
    You can’t

  23. 23
    ChacesKitten Says:

I saw both Battleship and What To Expect When You’re Expecting, both were great, but they were not on the same level of The Avengers, which I did see opening weekend and plan on seeing again.

  24. 24
    rogger Says:

Hell yeah!! That movie is insanely good!!

  25. 25
    Taylor who? Says:

I have no idea how anyone thought it would be a good idea for that Taylor Kitch guy to lead 2 big budget movies? Isn’t he a TV actor? I’ve never heard of him other than gossib blogs but that’s not enough for me to spend my hard-earned cash on (since I don’t watch whatever show he’s in so I have no clue if he’s any good). Doubt I’m the only one. When story wasn’t strong enough to bring in the punters and leads aren’t either, what were they expecting?
