    OLA Says:

@ Great Gatsby… SUMMER 2013!!! — There Goes Leonardo’s Oscar Meal Ticket Nom for this Year!!! — Great Gatsby not too “GREAT”.

    BEAN Says:

The Great Gatsby is not a complicated film. The Robert Redford version was basic and the story line wasn’t anything to cheer about so I don’t understand this… it’s not inception.

    Stockard Says:

I heard it was bad – time to re-edit

    Smart Move Says:

Makes sense since there’s a lot of box office competition this December. I mean, Leo has another movie coming out on the same exact day – Django Unchained.

    3D Says:

It’s simple. WB looked at the footage and decided it wasn’t Oscar bait. They will market it as a 3D spectacular and hope it doesn’t get lost amid the action flicks.

    @Smart Move:

The holidays are prime box office season for serious movies with awards aspirations. Gatsby is not good enough.

such a bummer, I was hoping it was gonna mean Oscars. Oh Well, mabe it will be a good sumer flick and hey, at least we dont need to choose between this and django on christmas

I am so bummed about this! I was hoping they would release one of his movies earlier, not later! They really should reconsider and release it during the school year when kids (and possibly their parents) are reading the book. I think I read it in the 8th grade. If it’s bad, there is no way it will be able to compete with summer blockbusters and kid/animated movies. Bad move….if they are going to push it off, then release it in September when nothing else is going on in the cinema and kids are back in school.

    mmm Says:

yeah, bummer, but it makes no sense to release two films the same day with leo. but also, i am a little glad its not good…..he gets just too much too easily sometimes….all the money, everything. I bet Django is a good film though….but I have a feeling that he wont be nommed for that. I like Leo as a bad guy, think it will be interesting but i don’t think it is an Oscar role…

I am sad its not good… 100 million spent on a sucky film? What is wrong with Baz Luhrmann he does good work like Romeo + Juliet and Strictly Ballroom, Australia was a travel brochure and now this?

I feel bad he should get back to his roots.

If its got Leo, its brilliant.

    Ha Says:

Well, what have you been expecting from Baz? I am surprised the studios entrusted him that complicated, classic story. The best director who can present the time and atmosphere is Scorsese. I’ d like to see this movie for Dicaprio, but I don’t want to see it because of Baz. Such a dilemma. Probably the best way for me to wait till DVD release.

this looked like a hell of a train wreck from the trailers.

    The Great Gatsby Says:

It must not be that great if it getting pushed back to the Summer of 2013!

    LaChica Says:

OH NOOO I really wanted to watch this but it makes sense to bump it to summer since it looks like a summery kinda a movie but I can’t wait !!!! Leo is definitely worth waiting for :))) <3

They’re going to use the wedding to promote.

I really hope the reason is because Baz needs more time to do the special effects and the music. I agree with Melanie, you really don’t see Leo in terrible movies, they are always pretty darn good. I hope Baz doesn’t screw this one up!! I guess I’m just upset that now I have to wait longer…..boooooo. Better be worth the wait.

For anyone wondering, maybe we will get a movie with both Leo and Christian Bale after all. Bale is going to be in Creed of Violence which Leo is supposedly attached to as well. Love it!! I hope it happens, I think they are both great.
