Anna Kendrick Covers 'Manhattan' Magazine

Anna Kendrick graces the cover of Manhattan magazine for the September 2012 issue.

Here’s what the 26-year-old Pitch Perfect actress had to share:

On moving to L.A. to focus on her film career at 18: “The first year in Los Angeles I was like, ‘What am I doing? Is this worth it?’ I could work as long as I could pay rent. I remember working with a girl who told me, ‘Don’t worry about the money—do what you love and the money will be there.’ There’s not really anything you can do to force it.”

On avoiding the paparazzi: “Here, people are too cool for school, which is fine by me. When I go to more touristy areas, it’s a real bonus being the shorty (laughs). I’m friends with [True Blood actor] Joe Manganiello, and he’s so screwed. He sticks out like a sore thumb.”

On being a comedic actress: “It’s not that I’m trying to be funny. But when there’s someone on paper who seems melancholy, sometimes when I play the scene it just comes out funny—many characters don’t know they have a comical side.”

“There’s not really anything you can do to force it.” — Is she serious? Then why do people hire celebrities, make sure they end up in magazines, on webpages etc. in the first place?

Of course you can buy fame these days. Look at Lana Del Rey aka Lizzie Grant…

@lola and jess…she said you can’t force getting a job and getting money there isn’t anything here about fame….but in order to buy fame you need money which is something she didn’t have starting out, which, if you had any reading comprehension skills, is the time period she was talking about

    Lola Says:

@amanda: She was also generalizing acting and talking about it as if, it (acting in general) was something you can’t force; which the current media proves to us that of course you can. Why do you think people like Kim K are famous?
