Eva Mendes Covers 'Lucky' October 2013

Eva Mendes is effortlessly beautiful on the cover of Lucky magazine’s October 2013 issue, on newsstands September 10.

Here’s what the 39-year-old actress had to share with the mag:

On famously keeping her private life out of the public eye: “You can ask about my boyfriend. I just won’t answer. The way my mother keeps track of me is looking me up. I say, ‘Please, Mother, don’t Google me!’”

On losing weight for roles: “I’ll do anything for a role. For A Place Beyond the Pines, I exercised a lot. I wanted my character to feel really depleted. My mom didn’t understand why I would want to look that way. She’s constantly telling me I’m too skinny!”

On feeling good every day: “Of course, to feel beautiful, you have to have healthy self-esteem and work on yourself, and that can be hard. And there are days when I don’t feel great, but I put on my favorite dress and throw a scarf in my hair, and it makes all the difference. Hopefully my line can do that for women. Even if you’re not feeling your best, let’s admit it, the right outfit–it helps.”

The low self esteem in Hollywood is so sad. I wake up and always feel good because I have a body that works well & can afford to eat. I swear the men in LaLaLand keep women so damn skinny to make them feel weaker. I’m 5’6 125 & feel strong but bigger than these people out here. It’a ridiculous, these scrawny girls would pass out in my boxing classes.

@Mike: 5’6 125 is pretty skinny girl! lol i’m 5’7 128 and i’m pretty slim with curves. but i do agree, these hollywood stars look disgusting.

She’s best on film, reciting lines rather than speaking from the mind. :) Very pretty lady though!

Looks like a man in full drag Ryan can do so much better.
