James Spader's 'Blacklist' Breaks DVR Records - 17.9 Million Viewers!

James Spader‘s new show The Blacklist has just broken DVR records with 6 million viewers over its first seven days after release, according to EW!

The 53-year-old actor’s freshman hour-long NBC drama brought in 11.4 million viewers during it’s initial airing, which included first-night DVR playback, but that number has jumped to 17.9 million for the full week in review, which broke records!

Congrats to the cast and crew on the awesome ratings for the great show!

Everyone watched it on DVR playback because during its original airtime, everyone’s watching Castle. :P

@KM: Hate to break it to you but everyone is NOT watching Castle. The ratings difference between Castle and The Blacklist is less than a million viewers. As for the ratings share, The Blacklist wins with 3.0 vs Castle’s 2.2. The Blacklist, thus far is winning Monday nights, why? Because it’s an amazing show.

I must be the only one alive who doesn’t know what is DVR playback?

@LOL: DVR Playback is “Digital Video Recording”. Recorded shows that viewers watch at their own leisure.

@Verity: No one’s watching Hostages, of that I’m sure! And no hate for The Blacklist, I’m also a fan but yes, I’d rather watch it on my own leisure. I’m a big fan of Spader (except for when he was in The Office). LOL.

I forgot to mention that those numbers would probably be closer if Castle doesn’t air a day earlier in Canada. Everyone has probably downloaded and watched it before hand and watches The Blacklist on airtime.
