Cate Blanchett rocks a geek chic look in horn-rimmed glasses as she steps out on Monday (July 23) in New York City.

The 43-year-old Aussie actress reportedly did a little shopping before heading to City Center for a performance of “Uncle Vanya.”

Cate‘s hubby Andrew Upton directed the Sydney Theatre Troupe’s version of Anton Chekhov‘s play.

She’s been getting rave reviews – “[Cate]‘s more than beautiful in the catalyzing role of Yelena: she’s otherworldly,” reports the New York Observer. “Uncle Vanya” runs until July 28.
