Spike Lee Leads A Peaceful Protest After 'Chi-Raq' Premiere
Spike Lee and Nick Cannon goof around at the premiere of their film Chi-Raq at the Ziegfeld Theater on Monday (December 1) in New York City.
The 58-year-old director sported a neon orange jacket and a beret with “CHI-RAQ” blasted on the front.
Lala Anthony stars in the film and was joined by her husband, New York Knicks ball player Carmelo Anthony. The 36-year-old TV personality looked stunning in her metallic sheath dress that evening.
Other attendees included John Cusack, Wesley Snipes, Teyonah Parris Rev. Al Sharpton, Ilfenesh Hadera, Sharon Carpenter among several others.
After the film, Spike led a peaceful protest throughout the streets of NYC calling an end to gun violence. Spike is pushing to create a national gun awareness month that will enable the country to “shatter the myth that guns don’t kill people”, according to Daily News.
