Prince William Praises Soccer for Bringing People Together
Prince William kicks a soccer ball while taking part in a drills session at the Football for Peace graduation ceremony on Thursday (November 22) at Copper Box Arena in London, England.
The 36-year-old Duke of Cambridge met with 30 young leaders and opened up about his recent trip to Israel, where he saw how soccer/football can bring people together.
“I have seen on many occasions the power of football to unite communities – most recently in Israel, where I met young Arab and Jewish Israelis playing together as part of a project called The Equaliser,” he said (via People).
“All of you Young Peace Leaders here today have worked together, played together and learned to confront pre-conceptions, stereotypes and negative ideologies. As Kashsaid, you are our future – metaphorically and literally breaking down walls!”
Football for Peace brings together people from different cultures and faith so that they can get a better understanding of their communities.
