Charlize Theron Honors Tom Hanks With Touching Speech at Golden Globes 2020
Charlize Theron gives Tom Hanks a hug while presenting him with the Cecil B. DeMille Award at the 2020 Golden Globe Awards.
The 44-year-old Bombshell actress and the 63-year-old A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood star took the stage at the event held on Sunday (January 5) at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, Calif.
Charlize opened up about how Tom was the one who cast her in his 1996 film That Thing You Do, one of her first roles in Hollywood. She admitted that she was so nervous, but Tom excused himself for a few minutes to allow her to gather her confidence.
“The most undeniable thing that could be said about Tom Hanks is both deceptively simple and yet overwhelmingly true: he just makes the world a better place,” Charlize said.
