MLB to Suspend Spring Training Amid Coronavirus Fears (Report)

Major League Baseball is putting spring training on hold.

The league is expected to announce that spring training, as well as the beginning of the regular season, will be suspended due to the ongoing coronavirus outbreak, ESPN’s Jeff Passan reported on Thursday (March 12).

“After a conference call among owners this afternoon, Major League Baseball is expected to suspend spring training. The league likely will delay the beginning of the regular season as well. At this point, it’s a formality that ownership-level sources expect to happen,” he wrote on Twitter.
