Justin Long Ditches Mac for PC in New Commercial
Justin Long is switching sides!
One of the actor’s most iconic roles may be as the “Mac guy” in Apple’s “Get a Mac” ad campaign, which ran from 2006 to 2009.
In the ads, Justin starred opposite John Hodgman as a personification of a Mac computer explaining to a PC why Macs are a better option for customers.
Now Justin seems to have switched sides in the debate and has appeared in a commercial for Intel.
“Hello, I’m a — Justin. Just a real person, doing a real comparison between Mac and PC,” Justin says in the new commercial, referencing the “Hello, I’m a Mac” intro to the old Apple ads.
Justin then looks at a lineup of laptops and says, “These are all PCs. Oh yeah, Intel! Nice. My face just unlocked that, that’s so cool. And I’ve never seen a screen like that on a laptop.”
When he moves on to the Mac computers he says, “So these are the newer Macs? Okay. So, gray and gray-er.”
In another ad, he mocks Apple for requiring their users to buy extra accessories while Intel laptops can transform into a tablet.
Justin recently reflected on working with Britney Spears in an emotional Instagram post.
