A Judge Denies Britney Spears' Request To Remove Father Jamie Spears From Conservatorship

Britney Spears‘ dad, Jamie Spears, will remain on her conservatorship, after a judge denied the singer’s request to have him removed.

According to Variety, a judge has denied Britney’s petition to remove her father as her sole conservator.

The court documents that were filed by the Los Angeles Superior Court on Wednesday (June 30) revealed that the judge has denied the request that was submitted by Britney‘s attorney, Samuel Ingham III.

“The conservator’s request to suspend James P. Spears immediately upon the appointment of Bessemer Trust Company of California as sole conservator of estate is denied without prejudice,” the documents state.

Mr. Ingham first filed to have Jamie removed late last year, and stated that Britney was “afraid of her father” and would refuse to perform again, if her father continued to be in charge of her career.

At that time, Judge Brenda Penny declined to suspend her father from the conservatorship, though she did not rule out future petitions for his removal or suspension. Also, at that time, the judge appointed financial company Bessemer Trust as a co-conservator.

It was intended for a judge to approve Bessemer Trust as the co-conservator in the papers filed today, but also reiterates the decision to not remove the elder Spears from the pop star’s conservatorship.

The documents were signed by Judge Brenda Penny today, just a week after Britney‘s testimony where she revealed that her conservatorship was “abusive.”

Earlier this week, Britney‘s team made the motion to end her 13 year conservatorship.
