Kathy Griffin Shares Update After Undergoing Surgery for Lung Cancer

Kathy Griffin is updating her fans.

Earlier this week, the 60-year-old comedian and actress revealed she was undergoing surgery to remove half of her left lung after it was revealed that she had stage 1 lung cancer.

On Wednesday (August 4), Kathy took to Twitter to share with fans how she’s recovering after the surgery.

“To be honest, this cancer surgery was a little more than I had anticipated,” Kathy admitted. “Tonight will be my first night without any narcotic pain killers. Hello Tylenol, my new best friend!”

In a recent interview, Kathy revealed that she had a secret addiction to pills and attempted suicide last year.

“The last time I was in a hospital was in June 2020 when I tried to take my life and overdosed on prescription pills,” Kathy continued in her message. “With over a year clean and drug free, I now know I can do this and anything I want without those devil pills.”

Kathy concluded, “Y’know what? I fear drugs and addiction more than I fear cancer. So, I think I’ll be ok.”
