Miley Cyrus Offers to Educate DaBaby Following Homophobic Rant

Miley Cyrus is extending a helping hand to DaBaby.

The 28-year-old “Malibu” singer, who is a big advocate for the LGBTQIA+ community, took to her Instagram on Wednesday (August 4) to offer to help educate the 29-year-old rapper after he received tons of backlash for his homophobic comments.

“As a proud and loyal member of the LGBTQIA+ community, much of my life has been dedicated to encouraging love, acceptance, and open mindedness,” Miley started her message.

“The internet can fuel a lot of hate & anger and is the nucleus of cancel culture,” she continued. “But I believe it can also be a place filled with education, conversation, communication & connection.”

Miley added, “It’s easier to cancel someone than to find forgiveness and compassion in ourselves or take the time to change hearts and minds. There’s no more room for division if we want to keep seeing progress! Knowledge is power! I know I still have so much to learn!”

In the caption to her post, Miley tagged DaBaby, letting him know that she is around to help educate him.

“@DaBaby check your DMS – would love to talk and see how we can learn from each other and help be part of making a more just and understanding future!” Miley wrote.

Miley‘s message to DaBaby comes after he caught significant criticism after making homophobic, misogynistic and ignorant comments at the Rolling Loud Festival in Miami, Fla., which caused many of his collaborators to condemn his words.

Since the backlash, and him getting dropped from several music festivals, DaBaby has released two apologies, which you can read here.
