'Late Show' Hosts David Letterman & Stephen Colbert Reunite in Rare Pic

David Letterman and Stephen Colbert have reunited!

Six years after taking over The Late Show, Stephen met up with David at opening night of Neal Brennan’s Unacceptable held at the Cherry Lane Theatre on Thursday night (September 9) in New York City.

Stephen took over the helm of The Late Show from David in 2015, and in a recent interview, opened up about the fears he had of doing so.

“My biggest fear was that people wouldn’t come back and notice, they wouldn’t see that I had finally found what I wanted the show to be,” Stephen shared with Vulture. “Those first six months felt terrible because you’re having to reinvent a new way to do the show, I had never my entire life done anything as myself, I had always done something in character, I was an actor.”

He added, “It was the first time I had to be me, I didn’t know if I could do that, so I had to learn to do something I’d never done before with a camera in front of me, on live television, in front of a massive audience.”

David once thought that a woman would succeed him as host.
