As always, credits scenes supply hints as to how the movie may tie in to other films in the future, and they may introduce new characters to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

At the end of Eternals, the team splits up, with Thena (Angelina Jolie), Makkari (Lauren Ridloff), and Druig (Barry Keoghan) going to space, while Sersi (Gemma Chan), Kingo (Kumail Nanjiani), and Phastos (Bryan Tyree Henry) stay on Earth to continue their lives as immortal beings. Sprite (Lia McHugh), the last survivor of the Eternals, stays on Earth, choosing to become human.

The Celestial Arishem, who created Earth’s Eternals, gets mad that they ruined the plan to sacrifice Earth to give birth to another Celestial, and he takes the three Earth-based Eternals prisoner, vowing that they will eventually face his wrath.

The first credits scene picks up from there, with the space Eternals sensing that something is wrong and that someone is coming to their ship.

It’s Eros (a.k.a. Starfox), played by Harry Styles, along with his sidekick, who appears to be the character Pip the Troll. He tells the team that he is an Eternal, and he knows how to help them get their friends back.

Therefore, Harry Styles is now part of the MCU as Eros, Thanos’s brother. In the comics, Eros was given the same cosmic superpowers all Eternals have, and can control people’s emotions. His introduction also gets the ball rolling for an Eternals sequel.

Then, at the end of the movie, when Arishem kidnaps Sersi, her boyfriend Dane Whitman (Kit Harrington) was just about to tell her a secret.

In the post-credits scene, Dane in a room looking at a sword that seems responsive to human touch. As he is about to touch it, a voice stops him and asks if he’s ready to do that. It’s Mahershala Ali‘s Blade.

Therefore, Dane may be a potential superhero. In the comics, he becomes the Avenger known as Black Knight, who carries the Ebony Blade, which can cut through any object and defend against magic, as well as absorbing souls. However, it has a curse that makes its owner prone to bloodshed.

Marvel announced in 2019 that Mahershala will play half-vampire Blade in a reboot of the franchise originally helmed by Wesley Snipes.
