Adele Reveals Which Song From '30' Is Too Emotional for Her to Perform Live - Listen Now!

Adele is opening up about her new album, 30.

The 33-year-old “Easy on Me” singer was a guest on the latest episode of the Spout podcast, where she discussed the inspiration behind her new record and revealed that there was one song in particular she isn’t planning on performing live due to how emotional it is.

Host Tamara Dia began by listing off some of the impressive records Adele had broken even before 30 was released, with the lead single “Easy on Me” scoring 24 million streams in its first week and her One Night Only special drawing more viewers than this year’s Grammys and Oscars.

Adele called her fans’ overwhelming response to the new album “incredible.”

“It’s hard to ever know if people are going to like anything because I take so long,” she continued. “I take so much time away and so it’s amazing. It’s really lovely that people were so into what I do and I feel very blessed and lucky.”

When asked if there were any songs she thought would be emotionally challenging to perform live, she said she found the track “To Be Loved” particularly difficult.

“I have one called ‘To Be Loved’ which is the one just before the last one… I’ve only really sung it a few times and definitely can’t even listen to it without getting emotional. So I will not be performing that one live,” she said.

Tamara also asked the performer about her friendship with Drake, who she sent the album to a year before it dropped.

“We always talk about work stuff and get each other’s opinions on it,” Adele shared. “It’s one of the reasons I love being friends with him, because being able to have access to someone that really does know a lot of what it’s like to be you and stuff like that… I’ve certainly confided in him about how I want to do things.”

As for whether she’s currently planning a tour for 2022, she revealed that due to a lack of availability it may not be possible.

“Everything that was supposed to be in 2020 is now either this year, but even most of those have been pushed to next year. So I certainly I’m not putting an album out and then like two or three years later doing a tour for it. That just wouldn’t make any sense. But yeah, I mean, I’m really hoping to do some shows and trying our best to not scramble something together. We've been trying to do it for ages, it’s just trying to get something that is consistent and also safe for people like, you know, I don’t want anyone coming scared or anything like that,” she explained.

Adele also said of life after divorce, “My brain is bloody on fire right now. My brain is happy and it’s fed and it’s calm and it’s hard work to get that off, you know, after a divorce. So yeah, I’ve definitely put all my effort into that and I think maybe it’s just my good brain that radiates now.”
