Magnolia Network Pulls 'Home Work' From Schedule Just Days After Launch

Chip and Joanna Gaines‘ new television channel, Magnolia Network has pulled a new original series, Home Work, from the lineup just days after the channel launched.

Reports of shoddy work and overcharges have shaded Andy and Candis Meredith by their previous clients by its hosts surfaced from two homeowners in the Utah area.

The series was even lauded as the next Fixer Upper by one media source ahead of the premiere of the network.

Deadline reports that Magnolia Network has chosen to pull the series over the reports and claims, with one homeowner claiming that the renovation couple went way over budget on the project in their home on top of the lack of communication between them about it.

The Merediths did make a statement about the allegations, saying, “We have always tried to give everything we have to make anyone we work with happy. We can only say that there are two sides to every story…”

Allison Page, the president of Magnolia Networks, also issued a statement.

“Magnolia Network is aware that certain homeowners have expressed concerns about renovation projects undertaken by Candis and Andy Meredith. Within the last few days, we have learned additional information about the scope of these issues, and we have decided to remove “Home Work” from the Magnolia Network line up pending a review of the claims that have been made.”

One homeowner who worked with The Merediths shared an 18-post Instagram tale about her experience this week, and said that she had hired the couple for a kitchen renovation in 2019, which they originally told her would take three weeks and cost $20,000.

However, during the taping of the show, it was elevated the first time to $25,000, and then again to $39,000 and took over five months to complete. The homeowner claimed much of that money was spent fixing issues created by the renovation.

The homeowner did add that there was a lack of communication between them, saying that when she spoke to the Merediths about the issues throughout the project, she was often given excuses or promises of things arriving the following day that never happened.

Apparently, Andy and Candis were given “a stern talking to” after the homeowners call to Magnolia, but nothing changed.

“I want Magnolia to be accountable,” they said. “It’s mind-blowing to me that they would put Magnolia’s name and reputation on the line or that they would allow these people to represent them without any sort of oversight or mentoring.”

Following her claim, another homeowner also shared another renovation horror story involving the couple.
