Lucy Boynton Makes Rare Comments About Relationship with Rami Malek, Talks Oscar Night

Lucy Boynton and Rami Malek keep their relationship very private, but she just made some rare comments about him.

The couple met while filming the 2018 movie Bohemian Rhapsody and they’re still together all these years later.

In a new interview with You magazine, Lucy talked about being Rami‘s date to the 2019 Oscars, where he won the award for Best Actor for his work in the film.

Lucy was asked what was going through her head when Rami thanked her during his acceptance speech.

“Lucy Boynton, you are the heart of this film, you are beyond immensely talented, you have captured my heart,” Rami said during the speech.

While reflecting on that moment nearly three years later, Lucy said, “It sounds so silly but I was really unaware of the public element of that. You’re just absorbing, millisecond by millisecond, what is happening, and then suddenly you hear the applause and you realize it’s been a public moment, which is slightly strange.”

This isn’t the first time that Lucy has talked about the moment. She previously told The Cut that she “blacked out” during Rami‘s win.

“Him winning for his performance was like winning for the tip of the iceberg of everything he had done,” she said in 2019. “You kind of forget that there are hundreds of other people in the room.”
