'Doctor Who' Rumors: Hugh Grant Considered To Replace Jodie Whittaker as 14th Doctor

Hugh Grant might be taking over the iconic role of Doctor Who, according to some new reports.

The Mirror has published a report from an insider stating that Hugh is one of the names being considered to portray the role of the 14th Doctor in the franchise, follow Jodie Whittaker‘s departure.

The paper reported that there have been “talks” with Hugh about portraying the Doctor in 2023 and beyond.

Hugh had been considered to play the part when the series was rebooted in 2005.

“I was offered the role of the Doctor a few years back and was highly flattered,” he told Digital Spy recently. “The danger with those things is that it’s only when you see it on screen that you think, ‘Damn, that was good, why did I say no?’ But then, knowing me, I’d probably make a mess of it.”

Hugh has also played the Doctor in a skit for BBC’s Red Nose Day as well, starring alongside Rowan Atkinson, Richard E. Grant, Jim Broadbent, and Joanna Lumley.
