The Oscars Viewership Up 58% from Last Year's Historic Low

The Oscars‘ viewership has rebounded after last year’s historic low.

Variety writes that the 94th Academy Awards drew 16.6 million viewers on Sunday (March 27), up 58% from 2021′s record-low audience of 10.5 million.

The outlet adds that according to Live + Same Day Nielsen data, the annual awards show averaged a 3.8 rating in the key adults 18-49 demographic, up 73% from last year’s telecast.

Despite the impressive growth, the 2022 Oscars remain the second-worst in terms of viewership and ratings performance in the history of the show.

The Oscars were hosted by Amy Schumer, Wanda Sykes and Regina Hall and featured a star-studded list of celebrity presenters.
