Thomas Rhett's Daughter Willa Gray Has Started Asking About Her Adoption

Thomas Rhett is opening up about his eldest daughter, Willa Gray, and how she’s beginning to start asking questions about her adoption from Uganda.

The 32-year-old country singer, who shares four daughters with wife Lauren, shared what Willa has been saying and asking during a conversation with Hoda Kotb on her podcast.

After Hoda asked about the questions that Willa is asking, Thomas admitted that knowing how to answer them is hard.

“You think when you become a parent you’re like, ‘Well, I’m a dad. I have all the answers.’ You know?” before saying that adoption is “the most beautiful thing in the world,” and added that parents who adopt often don’t considers the questions they’ll have to field when their kids get to a certain age.

Thomas shared that Willa has “really intense questions…I don’t know if you’ve felt this at all, but it’s kind of like, ‘Well, what age? What age is the right age?’”

“Maybe we need to wait until she’s 10, you know what I mean?” he said. “But she has questions all the time. She talks to Lauren, she’s like, ‘When can we get to see my friends in Uganda?’ And then Ada James will be like, ‘When can I go see our friends in Uganda?’ And Willa Gray will be like, “Well, they’re not your friends, they’re my friends.’”

In addition to six-year-old Willa, Thomas and Lauren also share Ada, 4, Lennon, 2, and Lillie, 4 months.
