Broadway Star & 'Sopranos' Actor Bob LuPone Dies at 76

Bob LuPone has sadly died.

TMZ writes that the actor, who was best known for his role on The Sopranos and his Broadway career, passed away at the age of 76 after a three year battle with pancreatic cancer.

The MCC, an off-Broadway theater space that Bob founded, wrote in a statement that the Tony-nominated star “lived fearlessly and with great curiosity, good humor, a boundless passion for connection, and a whole lot of heart. We will miss him deeply and always.”

Bob, who is the brother of Broadway star Patti LuPone, was born in Brooklyn, New York in 1946 and graduated from The Juilliard School with a bachelor’s degree in dance in 1968. Some of his credits include Sex and the City, Guiding Light and All My Children. He also played Dr. Bruce Cusamano on The Sopranos, Tony’s next door neighbor.

Bob is survived by his wife Virginia, his son Orlando, his sister Patti, and his brother, William. Our thoughts are with his loved ones during this difficult time.
