Matt Smith Revealed The Funny Nickname Prince Harry Has Given Him

The 39-year-old House of the Dragon actor carried a garment bag over his shoulder after a wardrobe appointment in the city.

Just a few hours earlier, Matt was seen in a darker, bolder shirt as he ran to a business meeting.

During his appearance on Today on Friday (September 16), Matt opened up about the nickname Prince Harry has given to him – Granddad!

Matt explained that since he portrayed Prince Philip on Netflix’s The Crown, Harry has called him that since.

“I met Harry once, at polo, which sounds a bit grand, but it wasn’t that grand,” he shared. “And he walked up to me and went, ‘Granddad.’”

He continued, “He watched the show! Well, I can’t claim to know if he watches it currently, but he watched a bit of it then.”

Just recently, Matt opened up about why he was hesitant at first to sign on for House of the Dragon.
