Jamie Lynn Spears Admits to Struggling With Self-Esteem Issues & Feeling 'Worthless' Growing Up With Britney Spears

Jamie Lynn Spears opened up about being the little sister of Britney Spears in the first episode of her reality show Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test.

The 31-year-old Sweet Magnolias actress has been in a fraught relationship with the 41-year-old “Oops…I Did It Again” pop star since Britney was freed from her conservatorship in 2021.

The relationship was particularly tense after Jamie Lynn published a memoir featuring allegations about Britney, which led to the singer’s legal team issuing a cease and desist letter.

Despite their tense moments, Jamie Lynn got candid about their relationship while on camera for the show.

In a teary eyed video, Jamie Lynn noted that her sister achieved worldwide success when she herself was very young.

“I’m so proud of her, love her to death, but I don’t know. Sometimes I feel like I don’t really have anything for myself,” she explained.

She admitted to feeling “worthless” because of struggles to find her own way in her sister’s shadow, saying “It just feels like every time I work really hard to get something on my own, it’s like it’s not really worth it.”

“I struggle with self-esteem all the time,” Jamie Lynn added in a confessional.

She noted that she was doing the show in an attempt to make her kids proud and said she was hoping to “have my own identity” and “be seen as my own person.”

The younger Spears sister previously referred to her Special Forces castmates as “like family.”

Although she and Britney have long been at odds, it appears that they might have recently made amends.
