‘Glee’ Cast Member Blamed for Cory Monteith’s Relapse, Leading to His Death, in New ‘Price of Glee’ Docu-Series

ID and Discovery+’s new docu-series The Price of Glee will be released next week and a major bombshell from the series has surfaced.

A crew member from the show alleges that a cast member pressured Cory into drinking alcohol at a party, which caused him to relapse and eventually overdose.

The first two episodes of the docu-series explore Cory‘s death and features interviews with many people who worked on the show, as well as his friends and former roommate.

Glee‘s season three hair department head Dugg Kirkpatrick provides the biggest bombshell in the series when he alleges that a cast member may be responsible for Cory‘s untimely death.

Dugg says that even after he left the show, many of the male cast members would still get haircuts from him and Cory got one just weeks before he died.

“He was clean all the way up until he asked me for that haircut,” Dugg says in the interview (via The Daily Beast). “He wasn’t drinking, he didn’t have any drugs in his system. But then, in the end, in the very last couple days that I saw him, he was different. He was under the influence of alcohol.”

Dugg continued, “He said he was at a party and hadn’t been drinking, and he wanted to have a drink, but he knew he shouldn’t. He was told by a certain cast member that night, ‘If you want to have a drink, you should have a drink. I’ll be here, you can trust that I’ll always be here.’”

Dugg noted how Cory had just gotten out of rehab and he should never have been drinking.

“That confused him and made him mad. But he did, he started drinking because he was given permission by somebody that he loved,” Dugg said. “He resented it, but he also took the direction. It took him on a path to destruction.”

Dugg refused to name the co-star he was referring to in his statements.

The Price of Glee airs on ID on Monday (January 16) at 9pm and will be available to stream on Discovery+.
