While playing in a punk band, Gillian Gilbert began dating Joy Division drummer Stephen Morris. Following the tragic suicide of Ian Curtis, the band regrouped as New Order and invited Gillian to join as keyboardist and guitarist. The couple were engaged in 1993 and married one year later, and have two daughters.
