Dermot Mulroney is showing his support for the writers strike by walking off the stage of The View.

For those who don’t know, The View is one of the few talk shows that are still airing new episodes amid the WGA strike and is one of the only places for celebs to promote their new projects this summer.

Dermot appeared on the Friday (June 23) episode to promote his new Disney+ series Secret Invasion, which premiered this week.

“Are we going to break?” Dermot first asked. “Sorry first, I want to do this symbolically in support and solidarity with the writers. I’m going to walk off your show. Thank you and I’ll see you on the picket lines in July.”

In a statement provided to Variety, Dermot said, “Since I have such respect for The View, a news program with a heart, it was there that I felt comfortable enough to draw attention to the ongoing WGA strike for fair wages and working hours, as I find it incredibly important to continue to support the union.”
