Troye Sivan Denies He's a Bottom, Talks About His Sexual Preferences

Troye Sivan is opening up his sexual preferences and how people have gotten him all wrong.

The 28-year-old singer knows that fans think he’s a bottom in the bedroom based on his song “Bloom,” but he says that’s not accurate. He’s actually vers!

Troye made the revelation on the High Low podcast with host Emily Ratajkowski.

“This is actually something I want to clear up,” Troye said on the podcast. “I wrote this one song called ‘Bloom,’ right? And it’s about bottoming. And the lyric is ‘I bloom just for you.’ And people took that and ran. I think in the sort of consciousness of gay people I’m some crazy power bottom or something, which is just not the case, and I just wanted to put that out there.”

He added, “I think sometimes people are just surprised if they go on a date with me or something like that and I’m like, ‘Oh, by the way, I’m not a bottom.’”

When Emily sent out a “PSA” to listeners that he’s not a bottom, Troye clarified by saying, “Not a full bottom, you know what I mean?” He’s versatile!

Troye‘s song “Bloom” was released back in 2018 and he referred to it as a “power bottom anthem,” though he must not have been singing about himself!

The lyrics included, “I need you to tell me right before it goes down/Promise me you’ll hold my hand if I get scared now/Might tell you to take a second, baby, slow it down/You should know I/I bloom just for you.”

Troye recently responded to backlash over lack of body diversity in his new music video.
