'Barbenheimer' Week 2: 'Barbie' & 'Oppenheimer' Second Weekend Box Office Numbers Revealed & 'Haunted Mansion' Debuts!

Barbie and Oppenheimer, two of the summmer’s biggest releases, both enjoyed healthy second weekends at the box office.

Barbie earned an estimated $93 million in its second week the North American box office, one of the best second weekends of all time and the best second weekend ever for Warner Bros., not adjusted for inflation, via THR.

It’s brought in $351.4 million so far domestically, and only fell 43 percent in its second week, beating out estimates.

It’s brought in $750 million globally, and quickly approaches the $1 billion mark. Only The Super Mario Bros. Movie crossed the billion mark in 2023 so far.

Oppenheimer brought in an estimated $46.2 million this past weekend, a mere 44 percent drop, making it the biggest second weekend ever for an R-rated movie ahead of Deadpool 2‘s $43.5 million, not adjusted for inflation.

Oppenheimer brought in $400.4 million globally so far, including $174.6 million domestically and $226.3 million at the foreign box office. It’s Christopher Nolan‘s sixth biggest film of all time ahead of Tenet and Batman Begins.

Haunted Mansion opened to an estimated $24-$25 million domestically, marking one of the lowest starts ever for a Disney live-action reimagining of a theme park attractions or classic animated film.
