Marc Anthony Surprised by David Beckham & Godson Cruz Beckham at Walk of Fame Ceremony

Marc Anthony got quite a surprise during his Walk of Fame Ceremony on Thrusday (September 7) in Hollywood.

Just moments before the 54-year-old musician’s ceremony started, he had gotten a text from longtime friend David Beckham, who told him he was sorry he missed the event – only to be shocked when David, and his son, Cruz (who is Marc‘s godson), showed up to support him.

“I’m going to kick his a** now, because he kept it from me,” Marc told ET at the event. “He just wrote me a text about 15 minutes ago saying, ‘Hey, congratulations. Sorry I can’t be there.’”

David then chimed in, saying it’s “really hard to keep anything from Marc, but it was kept a secret. I think he was happy. I think he was surprised. It went well.”

“We met over 20 years ago. I was a fan of his, but now to have him as a brother, as a friend, godfather to my son, and just a friend to the family, it’s so important to have those relationships,” he added, talking about his friendship with Marc. “What he does for the community and what he does for his industry is really incredible. It’s an honor for me to actually be here today to recognize what he does and who he is as a person, as a man.”

Marc‘s wife, Nadia Ferreira, and his sons Cristian and Ryan, who he shares with ex Dayanara Torres, and Anthony Ramos were also there to support him at the ceremony.

His star is located at 6284 Hollywood Boulevard, on the corner of Hollywood and Vine.
