Cate Blanchett Thinks Some Awards Shows Should Not Be Televised

Cate Blanchett has some feelings about awards shows.
The 55-year-old Tár actress spoke out on Las Culturistas with Matt Rogers and Bowen Yang.

“Bring that back and just have a great party where people can just let go. I mean, the industry is so scattered in such a point of which I think could potentially be exciting or it could be really depressing. But it’s at a pivot point,” she continued.
“So we need to gather together and celebrate what it is that we do without it having to have any public facing. I mean, the fashion’s great and all of that stuff. We’ll find out in the end who won or who didn’t win. But it would be so nice that that happened behind closed doors. Very different evening,” Cate said.
“Yeah, still have them, it’s so great. It’s so great that people’s work is celebrated and that way I think there’s a kind of a sense that you don’t get– because this is the thing, all these films are amazing. There’s so many amazing films and performances and all of the craft awards, cinematography, and you want to celebrate them but you can get sick of those films by the time, because they all get whittled down, as they must and then I don’t want to get sick of any of those films, ’cause they’re brilliant,” she went on to say.
She also revealed why she only has one photo from her wedding!
