On her stage fright
“I get terrible stage fright. Horrible, horrible, horrible stage fright… like I don’t take beta blockers, I have taken them before. Weirdly I get more nervous for more intimate [performances]. Like just recently I sang at a birthday party with a hundred people, and I probably had to sing ‘Don’t Rain on My Parade’ and I felt like I was going to have a heart attack. And I feel like I’m going to faint. It’s so bad. No one knows but I was nervous every night before ‘Funny Girl’. Every single night, like I get such bad stage fright, and my nerves and anxiety are so bad. So, but yes.”
“I can’t talk, or I’ll talk a lot, and you’ll never know it but I’m dying inside and the minute I get out there I feel like I’m going to faint… It never goes away. Usually halfway through I’ll feel a little bit better and then when I’m done, I’m exhausted… I can count on one hand the amount of times I haven’t been nervous.”
On the rumor she can’t read

Lea replies, “It depends on the day, sometimes I think it’s crazy that people care enough about me that they would make up something that someone has so little to do in their life in their day that they would waste it on me., is hilarious to me and then there are moments where I f*cking get so frustrated by it because I’m one of the only women in my whole family to get accepted to college. You know my mother and my mother’s whole family was extremely poor from the Bronx, not very well educated and my parents moved me from the Bronx to New Jersey to get a good education and to thrive and I did and my parents and my family are so proud of that and it really was so important for my grandmother to see me and for someone to minimize that it’s so sad and so frustrating but yeah I don’t know it’s wild. It’s a crazy thing. I’ll never forget the same day that that all came out Donald Trump said he was going to punch John McCain in the face or something like that it was 2015 and he said something so wild but what was trending online more was Lea Michele can’t read and Ryan Murphy called me and we was like ‘have you heard this rumor?’ and I was like, ‘no, what’s going on?’ and the fact that we are here all these years later.”
