Joe Burrow Leaves Bengals-Jaguars Game After Scary Ankle Injury

Cincinnati Bengals fans are holding their breath after star quarterback Joe Burrow suffered a painful looking ankle injury during Sunday’s game (September 14) against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The 35-year-old QB went down in the second quarter while trying to avoid a sack. Trainers immediately rushed by his side as he grabbed at his left ankle. He eventually got up and went to the medical tent, later limping to the locker room, but unable to put his full weight on his leg.
Backup Jake Browning took over for the remainder of the half.

The injury comes as a major blow to the team, which is looking to bounce back from a disappointing 2024 season. Joe was coming off of a career year with 43 touchdown passes and MVP-level play.
He has faced several injuries since entering the league in 2020, including a torn ACL as a rookie and a season-ending wrist injury in 2023.
