Erika Kirk Explains That Viral JD Vance Hug, Including Why She Touched the Back of His Head
Erika Kirk is speaking out about those viral JD Vance photos.
Seven weeks after her husband Charlie Kirk‘s death, she was at a Turning Point USA event where the VP was a guest speaker. While on stage together, they embraced and that sparked a lot of discussion online.
Now, Kirk is reacting to the talk and explaining why the embrace might have seemed more personal, including why she touched the back of his head.

“My love language is touch, if you will,” she shared during a Megyn Kelly Live event this past weekend.
“So I will give you a play-by-play: They just played the emotional video. I’m walking over, [Vance] is walking over. I’m starting to cry,” she continued. “He says, ‘I’m so proud of you.’ And I say, ‘God bless you,’ and I touch the back of his head. Anyone whom I have hugged, that I have touched the back of your head when I hug you, I always say, ‘God bless you.'”
Kelly then responded, “They were acting like you touched the back of his ass!”
Kirk then said, “I feel like I wouldn’t get as much hate if I did that!”
Meanwhile, a spokesperson for Usha Vance, who is JD Vance‘s wife, just released a statement about her ring finger.
